Last year, Campbell Newman made changes to the law to remove job security for public servants like you, changes that allowed your employer to sack 14 000 workers. These job losses have hurt our economy, increased uncertainty for families and made it harder for public servants to get on with the job of building a better Queensland.

We’ve already seen that when public servants stick together they can send a clear message to the government. You showed that you wouldn’t accept the loss of job security by voting ‘no’ to their proposed agreement. Then public servants forced the government to reverse its decision to close regional hospitals. Despite this, the removal of employment security remains the law and there is more to do.
